Working Structure Fire

10/20/12– At 0210, a general card was started bringing 168,167,169,112, and 110 to 74 Pond St for an abandoned house on fire. 167 Engine with a full crew and 167 Rescue 1 went en route shortly after dispatch. 167 Engine was first on scene and found a 2 story residential structure with heavy fire on the bravo side of the structure. 167 interior pulled a handline and went in for an initial attack on the fire. 168 truck, 169, and 112 engine (w/a water supply) arrived on scene as 167 interior was backing out with unfavorable conditions inside. At this time command requested ladder 36 be dispatched to the scene and 280 to standby in station. 281 Rit along with 70 Ems were dispatched. 281 stood by for Rit while 70 handled rehab and crews extinguished the fire and overhauled. Crews operated on scene for about 4 hours before clearing.
